Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
Writing is therapeutic and it became my best friend. It is always convenient in times of need, especially when I need to record my thoughts to free my mind or put my life events into a different perspective. Sometimes you discover new things about yourself that you never thought you had. I found a new passion to write, which I discovered over the past few years. Eventually, I wanted to use the passion in a unique way to share love to the world, that led to the idea of blogging. I thought to myself, “Hmmm…I should give blogging a try, especially since I also have a passion in encouraging others”. As weeks passed, my mind wandered on how the thought of blogging could become a reality. I asked myself two important questions: What exactly will I share to the public and how can blogging help be a change that this world need? Definitely, this world needs more of God’s children spreading LOVE and LIGHT to others!
How Twenty two New Things was derived:
22 is my favorite number, precisely it is the day a queen was born. In numerology, it represents light, harmony, and cooperation, which ultimately describes the purpose of my website in a nutshell! These three elements, combined together, create positive energy and connection that this world so desperately needs.
I can recall a time when I was in a season of the wilderness. I endured a time of discomfort and emotional drought that led me with no other choice but to talk to God. Then, I heard a small still voice saying, “new things are coming into your life”. I didn’t know exactly what the new things were at the time, but I knew God was informing me that I need to pursue Him more. When God allows new things (of any form) to occur in your life, they are always going to help you grow and expand, propelling you closer to Him. Writing is one of the “new things” that has changed my life for the better and to entitle my website New Things was most definitely the perfect name!
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19 (NIV)
